complete mess

Officials of my city tried to make the river Rhine red in the context of a society event (should give a liquid 'red carpet' for attendant celebrities). Rainy weather and a collection of big floodlights should have made this possible. You can see the result in the image above. This happening that didn't work later has been described as 'embarrassing'.

Don't mess with the river Rhine!
