Pteris cretica

Posted by MadScientist (Düsseldorf, Germany) on 9 February 2008 in Plant & Nature.

Though subtropical, this fern is very adaptive and survived a mid-European winter with flying colours. This is a photo from last summer, but my Pteris is still fine. I've even found some specimen growing at walls in some front gardens. However, I don't think that this is a sign of global warming but evidence for its genetic adaptability.
