Another image from that beautiful church (tomorrow I'll show something different, promised!), that was in need of some post-processing to work out the hidden details of the original. This time we're standing at a niche next to the altar and looking back into the nave. (Plague scene, Details below the cupola, ceiling, nave)
Wow, it's amazing how much went into this construction! Well captured!

@Steven: This church was one of my favourites. It's special composition of colours (white and red marble, bluish pastel paintings) amazed me. Additionally, it's not that too big, thus preserving enough intimacy to make you feel home.
Glorious in detail and gentle color.

@Michael Skorulski: I almost would have deleted this one: its lower half was much too dark, the upper half much too bright. I did some tweaking with my new software. Here at work I have to admit that the colours are looking quite dull, at home (better display) this picture appears much better. I keep on trying! :-)
You are inspiring me to travel to Rome. I'm so jealous of the architecture!

@Tracey: I've been to there two times and can't wait for my third travel! Everytime you leave you know that you've just seen a fraction. :-)
Wonderful work.

Grossartig!

A very tall capture from floor to ceiling. A great one again, I might add, given the lack of lighting. Are you ever uncomfortable photographing inside churches?

@Steven: Not at all :-) 1. I don't want to disturb anyone, so I'm never shooting at a mass but at regular visiting hours. 2. These churches are made to be seen. They are 'showy' in a way and that was intended by their builders. 3. I'm Catholic. So I guess I'm more than just a visitor. I know the symbols, the liturgy, the historic context, and most of the stories the building tries to tell me. To me, visiting such a church is a very sensual experience, pure joy :-)
Many thanks for you continued it!
