Old tree fungus on an old tree

@MaryB: Thank you! When I first reviewed the images from my last park walk I found them somewhat boring. I rediscovered them yesterday and really liked them, so I really appreciate your comment!

@Steven: Lucky one! I have to travel for about half an hour to see really old trees. If you're not in the city, you're in the flat country - I have to discover American forests yet!

@HorseRotorVator: Black forest?! Heavens! No! It's a private park in the lovely Lower Rhine area! No snakes, no big spiders,... :-)
May I quote from Wikipedia: "The Lower Rhine landscape is mostly flat green grass land, where you have a good sight at the horizon if it is not raining.
