I like them,too! It helps me despair less in winter! We have lots of "evergreens" in Japan and, the camellias of course.....they keep blooming all through winter!I like the way you captured these leafy stems!

@Japanalia: Thank you! I'm a great admirer of Japanese botany, especially of conifers and ferns, their form and colour is often very special and sophisticated.
Beautiful capture with varying hues of the green. A nice depth perspective, too. The only thing the holly reminds me of, though, is Christmas and winter, and I am so looking forward to the snow disappearing. :-)

@Steven: Here hollies are often used instead of palm branches for the Palm Sunday procession, so for me it's a spring plant :-) But if you think about the vast holly forests some 60 Million years ago, it's evident that mankind is just a short episode in the lifetime of this genus.
