Agreed, that's just the upper storey (the lower half is hosting a shop and isn't that beautiful), but it's a good example of successful renovation. This house is midway through Bonn's centre. Sadly it's located in a narrow street, so the angle isn't optimal.
I love the grays and gold. It's a beautiful building.

@Michael Skorulski: Often facades of our old buildings are monochrome, but here the owner spent some more money than usual :-)
A very cool facade shot! It must be great to see it from the street below!!!

@Craig: If the sun is bright and shining: yes! :-)
But the angle does do a good job of highlighting the gold trim. And the more I look at the capture, the more interesting components I see that make up the facade; like the heads by the eaves.

@Steven: Somebody put lots of love (and money!) into this house! While most old buildings just get one plain layer of paint, the golden accents here are quite unusual. Living at 3rd floor of the opposite house must be very nice :)
very well done in a narrow street . I like the contrast

@Capture it, share it!: Thanks! (I tweaked it a little bit :-)
Such beautiful details, I really like the angle too, I used a similar angle for some buildings I took in Brussels.

@MaryB: The pros and cons of narrow streets... Usually filled with the most beautiful houes of the city, it's almost impossible to get a whole facade. You can't have it all :-)

Expensive renovation no doubt. I take it this is a building that survived the war? I take it you had to be too close to shoot a little wider and take the tilt out in Photoshop.

@Twelvebit: I think that this building is ca. 100 years old (if not older). It's inmidst the center of Bonn and has probably replaced an older builing. Streets are quite narrow here (four long steps and you've crossed them), the town center has medieval roots and its map didn't change during the times. Sadly, I had forgotten my zoom lens, so I couldn't walk to the next open space nearby and make my shoot there, because I wanted to capture as many details as possible.
Yes, the facade looks impressive! But what is the condition of the building inside? It is commendable that renovation is the word of the day, but is it always the best way?

@Japanalia: You never know! Often the facades are the first (if not the only) things beinig refurbished and then that's it! That first old house we were living in had a beautiful facade, a marvellous hallway, but cellar and rooms were quite messy. You can live with that if you want to refurbish on your own and your landlord is willing to let you do that. But often this doesn't work out (like in our 2nd residence) and you're getting nothing but trouble!
