This fern has a wonderful variegated foliage with very delicate colours. It's hardy enough to survive Western-European winters (perhaps with little protection) and a nice eye-catcher for shadowy corners in every garden.
It has a lovely texture and color and you have captured excellent detail.

@Michael Skorulski: I hope the new fronds will get as beautiful as the old ones - this was its first winter outdoors with only minimal protection. Until now, I'm quite optimistic :)
Beautiful combination of colors, like the textures also, nice capture :)

@Ina: I purchased a second one with different tones and I'm looking forward to more beautiful fronds like this one :)
Love the light and the framing

@lucie: At the moment, new fronds are emerging. I'm very glad about this :-)
I agree these are not the usual ‘green’ ferns . . I love to discover different strains of everyday plants to try out in my garden. Not always successfully, though. I like the ‘secret’ look you have given to these.

@Ronnie 2¢: Thanks, Ronnie, glad you like it! I wished we were blessed with ferns as your country is! If you're interested in some spore exchange, let me know... :-)

Grmbl. Bald! :-)
The colour and textures of the fern are beautiful MS and I love the way you've captured the details too.

@MaryB: Thank you very much, Mary! Ferns are my passion, the Victorian fern craze would have been the right era for me :-) Ferns combine beauty, archaic growth patterns (very interesting math here - I'm computer scientist), and a very interesting biology, they immediately draw my attention.
Excellent detail!

@Scotfot: It definitely is. Thanks for dropping by!
I'm not familiar with plants but I find the white towards the end very attractice.

@JoeB: I have another fern with bluish tones. Hope we'll get better weather soon, then I'll show you that one :)
Yes, as others have said before me: lovely texture.

@Twelvebit: Another two, three weeks and it will be fully recovered with fresh fronds. Photo session is already booked :)
I like the way you processed this image, it enhances its beauty!

@Japanalia: Macros that I have shot without a tripd are often a little bit blurry, so I enhanced contrast and definition here. Glad you like it!
Beautiful detail in this image, great capture.
