Pierre Legros made this bigger-than-life marble relief of the Apotheosis of Aloysius Gonzaga. Gonzaga's biography is very interesting: his early interest in religion and the resultant conflict between him and his father can be compared to the coming of age of today's nerds.
An amazing and beautiful relief. Legros certainly didn't have a misspent youth!

Pierre was certainly blessed, it takes someone very special to create sculptures such as these. Wonderful MS.
