Düsseldorf's Hofgarten is the biggest park in the city. Unfortunately it's the loudest one, too. Crossed by various streets, car traffic moves slowly through the greens. But if there's green then there's hope: a small oasis of peace is home for various water birds and invites the visitor to have a rest. This tree grows by one of the ponds.
An unusual and lovely composition. Great idea!

@Michael Skorulski: I like this spot very much: it's full of ducks and geese ('...and a quack-quack here and a quack-quack there...').
It's unusual, it's different and such a simple object that one has to see it to appreciate its beauty.

@Observing: Does that mean you like it? ;-) This is one of my favourite places there - full with ducks and geese who are begging for food.
very beautiful shot!!!

@Kaddy: Thanks, Kaddy! It's a nice and cool place on hot summer days.
Beautiful and peaceful! Great capture

@Ina: Thanks, Ina! Now I'm missing all these exotic animals I'm admiring on your blog. That would quite make a difference to have flamingoes, ibises, and maybe crocodiles in the pond ;-)

nice - at first (scrolling down) it feels almost upside down and surreal :)

@baobab: I don't know exactly what type of tree it is but its hanging limbs have a very dramatic effect!
What a beautiful Weeping Willow, a lovely shot MS.

@MaryB: Thanks Mary! Sometimes it's challenging to find spots in the city without streets and building, especially in Düsseldorf, where traffic flows almost everywhere.
A kind of leaves curtain... we can guess a little the other side.

@akarui: Quite unusual sight of Düsseldorf, I have to admit :-)
I've seen some trees like this one, there so huge in size and seem to hang like a waterfall.

@JoeB: It's not that huge; I was standing very close to it and was right in its treetop. It's only some meters high.
Awesome light and framing! What a grand tree! We need more like that in the world!

@Jen: Definitely! If this park would be mine, there would be many more of them!
A weeping willow tree.....romantic....poetic....I love them in early spring when they start getting small leaves of a beautiful fresh green!

@Japanalia: This garden is also layed out by Maximilian Weyhe, an apologist of English gardens in Germany. You can still see his ideas today.
