A small tree fern, growing surprisingly well outdoors, though this species is coming from the tropics. Here it is surrounded by many other ferns: Dryopteris erythrosora (that small reddish frond top left), Onoclea sensibilis (top), Asplenium scolopendrium (middle right), Dryopteris affinis (bottom).
Lovely light falling on this gentle frond is very pleasing. Nicely photographed!

@Michael Skorulski: Sun was just right, it was as if my blechnum wanted to show its best side :)
What a beautiful frond this plant has, I love the way you've captured the wonderful shadows and light.

@MaryB: Fortunately, beautiful plants don't have to have flowers :) Thank you, Mary!
Just awesome! Excellent light and detail :)

@Ina: Thank you, Ina! No lions here, though.... ;-)
It seems to like the light, I'm getting the impression that you have a great garden, maybe you should post an over all shot.

@JoeB: Haha, no, almost all small plants I'm posting here are inhabitants of my balcony! But I love the thought that others think I have a big garden :-D
excellent shot.

@lucie: Thanks, Lucie!
Superb composition! Nice harmony shot! Thanks!

@Porcsin: Well, the whole 'composition' is a plethora of ferns on a shelf standing on the balcony. Wherever I put the camera, there's always enough green! :)

That small tree fern looks awfully large to me. ;-) Nice framing!

@Steven: It's not so big - the image is almost life-size. I think it will need some years to build a trunk, my other treeferns are much taller :)
Beautiful frond highlighted between shadows.

@Observing: A good fertilizer is able to supersede Photoshop :-)
