Michael Skorulski from Cigel, Hong KongThe colors are very beautiful and the details excellent, MS. 23 May 2008 5:04am @Michael Skorulski: Thanks a lot, Michael! Their scent is also great :) Ian Bramham from Manchester, United KingdomLovely rich colours and background blur - lavander is one of my favourite plants as it evokes warmth and holidays in the meditteranean! 23 May 2008 9:08am @Ian Bramham: Best thing was the lavender harvest last year: your own lavender just smells the best! I can't wait for new fresh flowers, they keep smelling for months! Margie from Auckland, New ZealandWow that's beautiful, and yes I see the fly - he seems a shy fly. 23 May 2008 10:47am @Margie: Some of them are a little bit coy in public. :) Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanYes, the tips of the wings and....maybe....one leg (?) It is hiding behind the petal! Lavender...anytime!I still have to see a field of blooming lavender...I only saw photos from France. And the Eau de toilette is my favourite! 23 May 2008 3:44pm @Japanalia: Now you might guess about my and my wife's favourite shower cream... :-) Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, Francehumm... i can almost smell it pleasant parfum. I don't know if it's french lavender but i've never seen this one !! and yes i see also the fly but it's well hidden !! 23 May 2008 3:46pm @Evelyne Dubos: I would call it Spanish Lavender, because I also have a lavender with frayed leaves, a Lavandula dentata, that has been sold to me as french lavender. A pretty one :) Observing from Chester, United KingdomBeautiful shot, the front one is in perfect focus, diminishing towards the background. Excellent color. 23 May 2008 4:51pm @Observing: Thanks, Mike! This one is blooming like hell, I can't wait to harvest the flowers, the scent is great! @Ina: Thanks a lot, Ina! Common how-to manuals recommend to cut lavender rigorously; we didn't do that. Instead, it's flowering for ca 2 months and keeps growing :-) MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomA stunning macro shot of these beautiful lavender MS. The colour is incredible too. 23 May 2008 10:40pm @MaryB: Actually I'm more into ferns, but you sometimes want a plant with a lovely scent :-) akarui from Kagoshima, JapanThis is a very good macro MadScientist. There is DOF on the lavanda and the background is all blurred. Go ahead this way... for ferns or other plants. 24 May 2008 1:58am @akarui: Thanks so much! I've got much more plants, so stay tuned :-) Michael from Wuppertal, GermanyKlasse! Also leider keine Rosen, vielleicht später mal! @Twelvebit: It's my purple beast... @Doug: Thanks :) |
