Harbour Temple, Xanten

Posted by MadScientist (Düsseldorf, Germany) on 28 May 2008 in Architecture.

My great-grandfather was a famous archaeologist and for the Kaiser's honour he discovered the remnants of this temple 115 years ago. Here he did a shot of that temple together with my great-grandmother.

No, just kidding, folks! This is a partial reconstruction of the so-called harbour temple at APX (Archaeologic Park Xanten), the historic site where the Roman city Colonia Ulpia Traiana was located. My great-grandparents were happily living in the countryside :-)
