St. Marien, InteriorPosted by MadScientist (Düsseldorf, Germany) on 1 July 2008 in Architecture and Portfolio. Our first view of St. Mary's interior. A few years ago the walls and pillars were painted in the sense of its designer, Joseph Prill. This room creates a reverberaton of at least 7-8 seconds. Download my coffee-table book of selected postings here. Enjoy!

@Ekaputra Tupamahu: Definitely! Thanks for dropping by! @Ana Lúcia: Incredible that I discovered it only now! Observing from Local, United KingdomBeautiful symetric shot, and the color is wonderful. It's a very bright church - lots of light coming in. 1 Jul 2008 1:27pm @Observing: I was very lucky last Saturday: no visitors but me, bright sunlight (I've chosen a big ISO though), it was open and I had enough time. I don't need much to have a great day :) @Eleftheria!: I am very pleased to hear that. Thank you, Eleftheria! JoeB from Brampton, CanadaSuch clean lines, makes the eye wander all over the frame. 1 Jul 2008 2:11pm @JoeB: The right place for explorations on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Kyle from Manhattan, United StatesVery beautiful. Nice job with the symmetry, and the colors are luminous. 1 Jul 2008 4:37pm @Kyle: Thanks, Kyle! Glad to hear that! @António Pires: Thanks, António, glad you like it! @Daily Phototherapy: Thanks a lot! More of this soon! MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomI have to say this is a very pleasant suprise, the outside of the church is very beautiful, but the inside.......Wow! it's stunning! 1 Jul 2008 8:23pm @MaryB: Incredible that I ignored this treasure all these years! But now the pleasure is even greater :) @Veronelle: Thanks very much, Veronelle! Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesLight and airy --perfect for using a Nikon D700. 1 Jul 2008 9:28pm @Twelvebit: "The new FX-format Nikon D700 full-frame DSLR camera will be available late July 2008, and will have an estimated selling price of $3000 (body only). " (Source) *cough* @David (12 years old): Thanks, David! akarui from Kagoshima, JapanThe white painting gives a more modern feeling. A nice church anyway. 2 Jul 2008 12:23am @akarui: In the beginning colours were different (as I've read), but ten years ago this has been changed according to the designer's wishes. Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanI like the clean symmetrical lines and the light! The altar area in the background really draws the eyes of the visitor! 2 Jul 2008 2:47am @Japanalia: Fortunately the light was just right :-) Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesYeah, well, that $3000 price tag is why I won't be buying it any time soon, especially as I already have two dslr bodies and have my eye on a 1080p HD projector for my home theater. 2 Jul 2008 1:39pm @Twelvebit: I think such a projector has a much higher WAF (wife acceptance factor) than an overpriced camera. :-D Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesNot for me, 'cause my wife watches movies with me. 2 Jul 2008 10:43pm @Twelvebit: Ha, go for it! :-) |
