The whole gap

This series would be incomplete if I wouldn't show you the whole picture.

Believe it or not: I didn't note that ugly lantern when I took the photo.

Fantastic MS, love the way the light glistens off the building on the left.
Both buildings look very impressive against the wonderful cloudy sky.

@MaryB: Seen from the distance they are quite impressive landmarks. However, I wonder if they will be able to decay in style, like so many older buildings.

Nice cityscape. This scene could be right out of downtown Austin.

@Twelvebit: Come on, Austin will have more than just two bigger buildings, won't it? I mean: this is just Düsseldorf (in English: 'village at the river Düssel') :-)

You didn't see the lantern......? ok, I believe you. No more than two beers next time when taking pictures..!

Great shot, any hdr applied? it has a 3D depth to the whole image and very sharp.

No, no HDR! Usually I use two different softwares: and Apple's Aperture, that's enough to save even the not-so-good shots.

Yes, but it depends on the perspective. Check out this similar shot of Austin to see what I mean.

@Twelvebit: That's a nice view, but, like at home, I guess they are looking more beautiful when seen from a distance than from close. Time will tell how all these glass palaces in twenty to fifty years.

The lantern doesn't matter. It even gives depth to the image. Stunning brightness!!

Interesting architectural style for the building on the left that looks too futuristic. And the building's luminescence almost looks surreal and drawn. Nice composition. And I hardly noticed the lantern. :-)

I like this one in that serie, as you say we can see the 2 buildings in once. The lantern has a good position and gives depth to the picture...

@Michael: Da ich ein ausgewiesener Schönwetterfotograph bin, habe ich immer ein einfaches Entscheidungskriterium, ob ich die Kamera mitnehme. Wenn sie dabei ist, achte ich gleich mehr auf mögliche Motive.
