Okay, Judie, this is your final question. If you're succeeding here, you'll win the million. Okay. Are you excited? Like hell! (Laughter from Audience) Yeahhhh, I would be that tooooo! (Smiles) Ha, ha! (Laughter from Audience) This is a small section from MadScientists balcony. Here's the question: (Loud:) What - are - these - plants?! Okay.... alright... Well, the one in the middle is.... We can see here a Lavandula stoechas (middle), a small Rhododendron (right from the lavender, almost hidden), an Araucaria heterophylla (foreground, right), a Matteuccia struthiopteris (below the lavender), and a Washingtonia robusta (waving its leaf left from the lavender). Are you finished? Well... yes! Oooooh, Judie! Sooo bad! There's a big maple tree in the background! Never mind, you'll get a nice plastic bag with lots of advertising gifts! See you next time! Aargh!
__ Sorry, ten days of continuous rain. Next entry will be less disturbing.
well it seems that you took this one when the sun was shining? ;o) I would even say nice light and so sharp, a very pleasant potpourri

@Laurent: Thanks, Laurent! This shot was done in May, when the sun was shining. Weather forecast promised better weather as of today - now it's raining again! Argh!
Love the title, although I am afraid your mental health is deteriorating a bit from all of the rain you have been having! ;0) Gorgeous shot of the mixture of plants. I certainly would not have been able to name them all!

@Tracey: This will change for the better, temps are raising and it's getting a bit brighter. A bit. *whine*
LOL to your text above. I love all the textures shown here from the various plants.

@Steven: Me too - and that's why it got quite crowded at my balcony! :-)
A good fun commentary, MS and I like the different shades and levels of green. Really wonderful image.

@Michael Skorulski: This was in May, when the world was bright and the sun was shining. How's the weather in Slovakia, btw...?
Luvly Lavunder :) Great shot!

@Ina: Vonderfull! Sanks a lot! ;-)
Do you get good syrup from it?

@Twelvebit: I think my neighbours would beat me to death if I would broach (?) their maple!
Online again :) Hi Mannfred, thanks for the comments. Sorry about the rain :) the UK is sunny and hot ^_^ oh well, you'll get used to the rain it's good for plants too...!

@Observing: Yes, I know. But I've been told that they love the sun too... :-/
Haha...love the story! I know about days and days of rain too. I completely sympathise.

@Margie: Thanks! It would be more tolerable if temps would be higher. Weather is at least three months ahead of its time.
You are a wonder of literature for sure, hilarious, and the photo, wow, I especially like the angle you took the whatchamightcallit green thing to the left ;)
24 Jul 2008 6:56am
@Lorraine: The whatchamightcallit is just a small palm tree with quite big leaves. Doesn't grow in Canada :-P
If this is on your BALCONY....it makes me wonder on the size of it?!
25 Jul 2008 10:14am
@Japanalia: Friends nicknamed it "Botanical garden" or "jungle". Not because of its size! :-D
