Think I know why it's so easy to make nice shots in the mountains: you're closer to the sky.
Being a German plainsman I miss that somehow. So not fair...

I agree with Antonio, something mystical in this sky. Makes me think about celestial representation in religious paintings.

I hear you MD! Being in the midwest, our highest point is the viaduct of the highway. ;-) Beautiful capture of the mountains with interesting cloud formations to boot. The pier sneaking out from the bottom left adds a nice touch!

@Steven: Northern Saxonia, the region northward from my home, is known to be the place where the highest natural elevation is the sugar beet! :-)

The cloud formation looks fine! I would have liked a little bit more light, maybe.....but it must have been the natural lighting that was not up to parr.The lake and silhouettes of the mountain backs look so inviting!

@Japanalia: Light was a bit difficult as I made this shot at high noon. Bright light from above and from the reflecting lake makes the mountains look darker, maybe I should use my filters more often :-)
