From Lemgo With Love

If you prepare a visit to Germany: skip Heidelberg, ignore Munich, but visit this lovely city: Lemgo was a member of the Hansa, experienced almost no war damages, has lots of culture and nature to offer, and a lot of friendly people. They were so nice, we immediately got a hug once we entered Lemgo's historic city. Well, sort of. :-)

It was a fruitful visit. I had to buy an additional CF Card in the afternoon.

Looks like a quaint and beautiful town.
The hugs in the picture and in your comment are a cute tie-in.
Love the colors. I think I'm going to google "Lemgo"...have no idea where in Germany it is. Thanks for introducing me to a different town.

@Darlene: My pleasure! Lemgo is really beauiful, it was my 1st visit there and it was a really pleasant surprise. People there seem to be quite proud of their beautiful city, and they are right about that :-)

@JoeB: You know what's the catch? They became Protestants in the 1530s! No colourful cathedrals there! D'oh!

This looks an excellent old town to have a photo shoot. Wonderful colors.

To be honest MS, I've never heard of Lemgo, I went once to Gielekirchen (?) over the border from Venlo. It was just a dead village.

@Observing: Geilenkirchen - that's just a small town near the national border, nothing to care about. Lemgo is located at Northrhine-Westphalia's east (it's neither Rhineland nor Westphalia, but a region called 'Lippe'). That was our first visit, we've heard about an interesting art exhibition and were quite pleased by that and the whole city.
