Level 42

Today I'm entering level 42 in the game of life. Yes, it's my birthday! 42 is an interesting number, but you probably know that it's the answer to life, the universe, and everything, so I'm very looking forward to the next year. Wherever the path might lead to, the rough destination is unobscured, and the desire for exploring new territories is firm.

I agree, the typical questioning of the forty generation exist, not so easy to manage... but as adolescence, may be it's a difficulty to overcome and a necessity to go forward and later tackle the old age. Today i'm almost 48 and i'm still in this thought....

Middle-aged persons face some challenges that our parents were unlikely to experience, at least in their active years: recession, living without a vision, risk of losing everything, especially social safeness etc. What annoys me most is that our generation never succeeded in articulating political protest (at least here in Germany). If we don't, who will do else?

And yes - there are some things still to be done as I'm not sure how long (and if) my company will survive that crisis. (PS: you've got mail!)

happy birthday MS!!! :) a year older -- a year wiser! i hear your anxiety regarding the current state of the world 'union' and all i can say is that in my opinion the worst is yet to come -- but as a general optimist (and i wasn't always this way), i think that the human race needs these changes in order to move forward... so i hope at least some of us pull through to carry on the torch. god bless us all!

@PD: Well, according to the Discordian calendar my birthday took place at Maladay (not bad, huh?); but I would carry a towel only at 72 Discord (May 25)! ;-)
