@PD: That's a small park south of Carlstadt borough. The building is now a museum, hundred years ago it hosted a regional parliament.

@Eleftheria!: Indeed, I like this place a lot. What you can't here, however, is the much used street behind me. If there was no (or less) car traffic, it also could be an oasis of calmness.

@Laurent: Well, I'm coming from the countryside and it would be difficult to return. It's sort of a mix now, neither country nor city, and it completely changed since my childhood. It sometimes hurts to see all that change that ruined the landscape.

@Twelvebit: You're right, things are completely different here. The countryside is no longer marroned; there is always a city or center for anything nearvy. Having a location with a well-performing infrastructure definitely has its advantages. If I would be living in a bedroom suburb and would spend a lot of time just for being on the way, I would feel very uneasy about this. Now I'm living in a rather quiet part of the city and can choose from walking to the center (20 min), driving by tram to any other borough (10 - 20 min) or driving by train to the next big city (45 min). I don't even have a car! :-D
