Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandWow it really is totally frozen!! This is a really great image ms! The composition and lighting and the flow is wonderful:-) 3 Jan 2009 6:15am @Linerberry: Must be wonderful to watch a frosty photo when it's really hot outside. :-) @Laurie: The ice is still too thin, but it would be funny to slip a bit on it... :) @Eleftheria!: COLD! :-) Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaA glorious image. I especially like the colored reflections in the water. 3 Jan 2009 12:44pm @Michael Skorulski: Thanks! A very unusual winter, as the cold is rather dry and we have a lot of sunny days. Usually we would have temperatures around 5°C and constant rain. @Jen: Yeah, it got quite cold here! Now a slight thaw has set in. Kaylin Idora from New Orleans, United StatesBeautiful!! I love the line of the trees, wonderful!! 3 Jan 2009 4:04pm @Kaylin Idora: Düsseldorf's most expensive street with a lot of luxury stores. :) JoeB from Brampton, CanadaBeautiful canal and play of light, the city and canal have been combined in an admirable way. Maybe you could skate down the canal. 3 Jan 2009 5:39pm @JoeB: This ice carries just a few ducks and gulls, I would wait a bit. :-) Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, FranceIt's cold indeed but you have captured lovely warm colors. Deep blue sky and its reflect in water are effective. 3 Jan 2009 6:28pm @Evelyne Dubos: Yes, we're blessed with sun this winter. That's better than the usual rain with temperatures just above 0°. @PD: Thanks, PD! Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomLovely shot ms..... you better get your skates ready. 3 Jan 2009 11:11pm @Observing: That's just too thin! I don't want to go for a swim there! :-) Bhavvish from Dallas, United StatesNice shot - the clear sky and the reflections! 3 Jan 2009 11:35pm @Bhavvish: Thanks very much, Bhavvish! Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomCanals make such a strong city statement . . and a long-lasting one, too. Love that autumn light. 4 Jan 2009 12:17am @Ronnie 2¢: Düsseldorf's only 'real' boulevard. Has been located in compliment to King Friedrich Wilhelm IV of Prussia, when the Rhine Province became part of Prussia, if I remember correctly. So a litte pomp was quite adequate. :-) Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanBeautiful light and contrasting colours! A perspective that pleases the viewer! 4 Jan 2009 2:48am @Japanalia: As long as the sun keeps shining I won't complain! :) DarkElf from Perth, Australianice composition along the canal with some beautiful warm colours... quite unlike a winter scene at all... 4 Jan 2009 6:26am @DarkElf: Not really, it was pretty cold! :-) Ina from Krugersdorp, South AfricaThis is totally awesome ! Lovely colors and the reflections a great. 6 Jan 2009 6:07pm @Ina: Yes, this walk was a real pleasure. :-) |
