Fight the grayscale

The last days gave us glorious sunshine, a striking blue sky, wonderful sunsets (I'm not an early bird, so I can't tell you if also the sunrises were beautiful) - at atrociously low temperatures (first frosts already appeared). Or we experienced quite the opposite: storms, thunderstorms, heavy rains, gray skies, and few daylight at mild temperatures.

As the bad weather seems to take hold I decided that I need a bit more colour. Rose Garden, Bamberg. Behind the residency, seen from the café.

Well, we're fighting the grayscale today after a most wonderful day yesterday, which we spent in Tokyo with special delights like the Imperial collection at the Tokyo National Art Museum. Charged my batteries for a little while....I like the view here as it lets me imagine how it was for you looking over the garden towards the red roofs of the town....A beautiful composition indeed....

@Japanalia: Many thanks! I know, the dark season requires a lot of merrymaking for making us forget that we actually should have a long winter sleep.

Exactly the same weather here last days... so sunny but so cold....
Nice vivid colors and i like the different stages of flowering of roses in the same shot.... :-)

We still have a wonderful weather, not cold at all (indeed, temperature today will reach 26 C). Light is intense, not good for urban photography though.

@Laurent: We were extremely lucky with the weather, that's for sure. Though I think the sun is shining there more often than here...

yes i hear you -- a bit more color is indeed called for -- this summer hasn't been warm nor bright enough to balance the onslaught of cold and dimness that lies directly ahead! :( today however, is surprisingly nice... we shall see if it lasts!
