A beautiful place on a nice sunny day. The old buildings on the left seem interesting too.

@akarui: The sun was coming directly from that side, but I'll see if I have a shot that shows the square from the opposite side.

Quite a vast open square which is complemented by an impressively large building. I love all those windows.

The Alte Hofhaltung looks much older then the New Residence, obviously.

@António Pires: Yes, it's Gothic vs. Renaissance. I'm glad they didn't tear down these old buildings when they started building the palace.

A very large space...it must have been used for something like fairs, bazaars or festivals! 5 centuries and still going! That's SOMETHING!

@Twelvebit: Unfortunately we were at that square always at the same time of the day and I couldn't take a decent shot from the opposite side.
