St Vitus, Prague: WindowPosted by MadScientist (Düsseldorf, Germany) on 8 October 2010 in Art & Design and Portfolio. Another stained glass window in St Vitus. Unfortunately I couldn't find any data on this artwork; a similar window by František Kysela is dated from the 1920s and so is probably this window, too. It seems to depict various stations from the life of the Christ (including some parables), but if anybody knows a bit more and would tell me, I would be very grateful.
My (old) coffee-table book of selected postings. More MadScientist: eclecticimaging.tumblr.com, the guy behind this blog

@Phil D. Morris: I like this Tiffany-style work, too. The colours are so bright! @Ronnie 2¢: Several hundred years of experience in glass design bearing their fruits. :-) @António Pires: Thank you! See more stained glass windows (including the modern ones in St Andreas, Cologne) at my other website. @London Caller: Many thanks, London Caller! @Japanalia: You don't see all the details from your usual perspective when walking through the church (a privilege only possible with a photograph), but the light coming through these windows is an amazing experience. @Christine Walsh: For me it was the first time to see these Tiffany style windows in a church. They are very large, too, which made taking a photo of them a lot easier. @KriKridesign: Many thanks for your polite words! |
