St Marien: Hermann Joseph WindowPosted by MadScientist (Düsseldorf, Germany) on 11 May 2011 in Art & Design and Portfolio. This magnificent window in the transept of St Marien, Bad Godesberg, is dedicated to Hermann Joseph von Steinfeld (ca 1150 - 1241 or 1252), mystic, poet, pastor. The left scene depicts the 'apple wonder' where young Hermann handed an apple to a baby Jesus statue which accepted this donation. Hermann Joseph is still a popular saint in the Rhineland. My (old) coffee-table book of selected postings. More MadScientist: eclecticimaging.tumblr.com, the guy behind this blog

@MissT: Thanks so much, MissT! @António Pires: Many thanks, António! @Ted: It's not the only one! :-) @Steven: Thanks to soft afternoon light. But the ornaments of this have much warmer tones than comparable windows have. @Akaruiphoto: Many thanks, Olivier! @Phil David Morris 2011: Many thanks, Phil! However, for the next evolutionary step I will have to change my perspective and locate myself on the galleries. |
