Il Gesù, Rome, Italy

Posted by MadScientist (Düsseldorf, Germany) on 13 February 2008 in Art & Design.

Your beaten Madscientist lies in bed, fevered and coughing, but nonetheless I'll present you another image of fabulous Il Gesù, the Jesuit's main cathedral in Rome. I've already shown a photo of it a few weeks ago.

(Edit: I've been using the wrong accent for weeks - of course it's Il Gesù. Now it's correct :-)

Michael Skorulski from Cigel, Slovakia

This is lovely. You have caught the fine details and a wonderful effect of an arch.

@Michael Skorulski: Thank you, Michael! In my opinion this is one of the most spectacular churches. Others might be bigger or more important to Christianity, but this one provides visual impressions that are unforgetable. I have another shot of the whole nave which I will present in the next few days.

Porcsin from Debrecen, Hungary

The Romans know how to do it in giant!
I like it!

Superb colors and definition.

@Brites: Thank you Brites! Portugal is at a top position of the list of countries I want to visit!

Tracey from White Hall, United States

Gorgeous! Getting the full arch in the frame is brilliant. Great job!

@Tracey: Thank you, Tracey, much appreciated!

Michael from Wuppertal, Germany
