Benedictine Monastery at Tegernsee (pt. II)

Because you enjoyed it so much, we'll stay a little bit longer at this beautiful church. This is a look behind, we're standing just before the altar and look back. Note the fine baroque organ!

Steven from Chicagoland, United States

Another beautiful view, MD. I'm yearning to find some ornately-decorated churches now!

@Steven: Keep chasing that rainbow, Steven :-) Churches like this one are extraordinary, even in Bavaria! Many older ones were destroyed in several wars, lost their interior equipment and treasures, or were completely rebuilt. Some corners of the world just were lucky for the last 400 years, like this one.

Michael Skorulski from Cigel, Slovakia

Lovely placement of the organ with the window in the middle. Nice image.

@Michael Skorulski: Thanks! I don't know the details about this organ, but chances are high that it's an original from the 17th century. Unfortunately, nobody was playing it when I was there.

Michael from Wuppertal, Germany

Wieder mal ein grossartiges Bild!

@Michael: Danke! :-)

HorseRotorVator from Newton, United States

Very awesome!!! Love the detail. The framing makes it seem SO huge!!! :)

@HorseRotorVator: It's not that big! I was almost sitting on the floor, looking upwards :)

Ana Lúcia from Leiria, Portugal

You have some amazing collection.

@Ana Lúcia: Thanks for your kind comment! I really appreciate that! :-)

Brites from Lisboa, Portugal

Simply wonderful... as usual! :)

@Brites: Thank you, Brites! It's always a pleasure sharing my photos and enjoy people like you :-)

Porcsin from Debrecen, Hungary

I like this as the previous.
Excellent!

@Porcsin: Perhaps your next travel destination...? :-)

MaryB from Staffordshire, United Kingdom

I love the way you've captured these last to shots MS, the scale, colours and details show beautifully. 2 Breathtaking captures.

@MaryB: Thanks, MaryB! When I enter a church I sort of make myself at home and try to understand the room. While churches in Rome often are built for overwhelming the beholder, these Bavarian churches tend to be more 'homelike'. In the next few days I'll show some 'sober' churches and I'm looking forward to your comments :-)

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

It makes me sigh with pleasure!

@Japanalia: You just made my day! :-D
