St. Elisabeth, Bonn, Revisited: Bays

Posted by
MadScientist (Düsseldorf, Germany) on 9 September 2008 in Architecture.

Not sure if a bay is the same thing as a Joch or a Campata. Well, this is St. Elisabeth seen from the floor. Please don't mind the grain; I took this photo minutes later than this one and it got even darker. But I'm very happy that I'm now able to capture all of the bays. :-)

Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New Zealand

I really don't mind the grain, especially as you went to so much trouble to do such a great shot...to lie on the floor in a church for your art!
I love this image ms! Its not the perspective one normally gets and thats just so cool! Absolutely perfect symmetry...good one!

@Linerberry: I wasn't lying on the floor - just my camera. A remote controller makes this possible :-)

Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New Zealand

Still amazing!

@Linerberry: Thanks! :)

MaryB from Staffordshire, United Kingdom

A superb angle to this shot MS, it gives a real sence of the height. wonderfully photographed.

@MaryB: Now I have to revisit all my favourite churches to get views like this. :)

Laurent from Lyon, France

indeed, a lot of noise but still a very good picture. I like the symetry and it remind me my beginning with digital camera when I spent my time taking ceiling. My friends thought I was crasy, but now I can see that I'm not the only one ;o)

@Laurent: And I always thought digital photography has been made especially for this ;-)

JoeB from Brampton, Canada

Fantastic ceiling, can I borrow the lens.

9 Sep 2008 1:50pm

@JoeB: Please line up, you're not the first one. ;-)

Michael Skorulski from Cigel, Slovakia

Astounding indeed. I hope the floor was clean. That is one fine image.

9 Sep 2008 3:28pm

@Michael Skorulski: Really, I never lie down! It's just my cam and a remote shutter, that's all! :-)

Observing from West Cheshire, United Kingdom

What an angle, there is so much to see. You are putting it to good use. BTW JoeB just pushed in front of me for the lens.

9 Sep 2008 8:51pm

@Observing: Don't push! There's enough angle for everybody! :-D

akarui from Kagoshima, Japan

An unusual view on that nice ceiling.

10 Sep 2008 12:07am

@akarui: It's quite colourful, indeed. Hope I'll capture it on a sunny day in the near future.

Jen from Alpharetta, United States

Very nice angle and perspective

10 Sep 2008 1:04am

@Jen: Thanks, I had to do just minimal corrections here. :-)

Twelvebit from Victoria, United States

Laying down on the job, are you?

16 Sep 2008 6:36am

@Twelvebit: Nope, just the cam hit the ground. :-)
