Silly Tuesday: Urban Wildlife

Posted by
MadScientist (Düsseldorf, Germany) on 28 July 2009 in Art & Design.

Keeping one's humour is important in cities like Berlin. Like now: after several technical flaws most of Berlin's S-Bahn trains were retracted for security maintenance. The S-Bahn is something like Berlin's traffic artery; due to the security checks normal processing of the city trains won't be possible until December! 20 years after the reunification it's again difficult to move from the western to the eastern parts of Berlin. According to this, the headlines of Berlin's newspapers were sounding quite alarming last week, only to asseverate on the next day: 'Berlin - stronger than Chaos!'

Zahai from Berlin, Germany

Ronnie 2¢ from Atlantic Shores, United Kingdom

What a nightmare Tuesday world you show us . . just hope it is gone by Wednesday !

28 Jul 2009 1:35pm

@Ronnie 2¢: Certainly, the sun is going to shine again very soon! :-D

Steven from Chicagoland, United States

Ronnie shares my sentiments. Only I was going to sound a little nicer saying that this was more scary than silly. :-)

@Steven: What's up with you guys? No fox was harmed in the making of this photograph (it was already dead). ;-D

Laurie from New Jersey, United States

Well that is a little ummmm....errrr...strange and odd...funny image.

28 Jul 2009 7:28pm

@Laurie: That shop is quite popular... :-)

JoeB from Brampton, Canada

Throw every odd item we have into the window display. Dress up the fox but he still looks menacing, I'm expecting Little Red Riding Hood to walk in any second, the fox could be the wolf's stand in. :D

29 Jul 2009 1:35am

@JoeB: The European versions of fairy tales have always foxes instead of wolves. I think.
"The Fox and the Seven Young Kids."
"Little Red and the Big Bad Fox."
"Land of the Foxes."

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

I cannot grasp the intention of the decorator...unless the idea is CHAOS!

29 Jul 2009 10:01am

@Japanalia: That shop is running fine, they are selling a lot of beads. :-)

Twelvebit from Victoria, United States

Didn't realize it was a window display until I read through the comments. Looks like something I might find in someone's yard.

29 Jul 2009 10:49pm

@Twelvebit: Including old doll parts and detergent cartons?

Twelvebit from Victoria, United States

This is Texas.

31 Jul 2009 1:31pm

@Twelvebit: I bet there are tidy front yards even in your community! :-)

shadebox from Budapest, Hungary

Beautifully bizarre and eclectic!!!

@shadebox: Some surprises are just a shopping window away.
