In their weakest moments, even the prince-bishops of Bamberg were just men.

@B.Held: Thank you!
A nicer colorful backdrop to this statuette. First thought those were red flowers until I eyed it a little closer.

@Steven: These are flowers! Several hundred roses were still in bloom, it was a feast for the senses. You can sit there in a café, have a piece of Parisian chocolate truffle cake with a small can of coffee, smell all these flowers and have a fabulous look on the rooftops of Bamberg. It was really difficult to leave this place!
Very nice statue.
I have answered to your question but I am sure at only 75% :)
For the previous dyptych, the left picture of Jesus on the ceiling has been taken in the Sacre Coeur (Montmartre) but photos are not allowed...

@akarui: Really strange; these churches that are also part-time museums sometimes have nasty restrictions. I didn't experience any problems in Rome or German churches, though. If it's forbidden in the big ones, I take a small church, then. :-)
beautiful shot... nice composition.. brilliant!!

@Sriram: Many thanks, Sriram, much appreciated!
I love the light falling on the statue, as for what taste the prince-bishops had........... I went to see the site of the city of Bamberg, what a wonderful town!! This rose garden looks like a piece of paradise when all the statues are lost among the blooming roses.

@Japanalia: Indeed, that was one of our favourite places. Many of the roses there were still in bloom and their scent was so lovely!
Not possessed of legs that fit the modern taste.
