4000 K

Posted by
MadScientist (Düsseldorf, Germany) on 17 February 2010 in Art & Design and Portfolio.

Inspired by the Eclectic Reveries of B. Held. Discover them with amazement!

4000 K is the colour temperature of these fluorescent lamps. It's also called 'cool white'.

Michael from Shell Village, United Kingdom

An interesting diversion from your usual work Manfred, it's good. At first I thought it was an extremely old picture; the just visible buildings gave that impression.

@Michael: That's Jägerhof castle - or the modest remnants of it. We'll visit it on a sunnier day. Thanks, Mike!

Peter from Amsterdam, Netherlands

Cool white fits with the snow that's drizzling down.

17 Feb 2010 9:36am

@Peter: Two days of constant snowing last weekend - it's enough. I want my plants back.

akarui from Kagoshima, Japan

Very graphic and nice contrast of light and shadows. I thought first that they were sits...

17 Feb 2010 11:30am

@akarui: Long benches, 3m approx.

Laurent from Lyon, France

I'm still fond of you glowing benches.
Moreover on this one I like the background windows that you guess more than you can see

17 Feb 2010 12:19pm

@Laurent: That's a small castle from the 18th century. Will visit this later.

@Céline: Thanks very much! My pleasure!

Steven from Chicagoland, United States

An interesting capture of the profile view. And I'm glad you explained what it was I was looking at. I thought I might have been looking at some masseuse's massage bench. :-)

17 Feb 2010 7:05pm

@Steven: Outdoor massages in winter would be a total flop, I guess. :-)

Philip from South Wales, United Kingdom

Exceptional shot here. The snow on the benches seems to glow in the gloom. The grey of the background (is it noise or effect?) is very atmospheric with an added benefit to me for being able to work out the faint outlines of the windows and doors in the distance.

I love this sort of shot. Mono rules!!

17 Feb 2010 7:32pm

@Philip: Thanks a lot, Philip! The noise is part snow, part ISO 3200. :-)

Ted from South Wales, United Kingdom

Really like the direction you are going with these and this one, is so atmospheric.

That was a pretty eclectic music recommend by the way!!!

17 Feb 2010 8:45pm

@Ted: My pleasure, Ted! :-)

Twelvebit from Victoria, United States

Fantastic shot. But get me looking at great work like that in your link, and I don't whether to feel inspired or just give up photography in hopelessness and despair.

27 Feb 2010 4:26pm

@Twelvebit: Yep, she's good! Compared to her works, I'm just doing snapshots.
