The Poll That Paralyzed Germany

Posted by
MadScientist (Düsseldorf, Germany) on 10 May 2010 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

One of the most important polls of a German federal state is over. The old conservative black/yellow coalition has been voted out, but neither are the results clear enough to establish a new stable government in NRW, nor will it strengthen the federal government in Berlin, as the governing coalition loses its majority in the Bundesrat, Germany's upper chamber. A weak government, a falling Euro, a big economical crisis: such interesting times!

Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, France

Like that lovely fresh color and the flowers gathered like pompoms, very unusual. Do you know the name of the flower ? Each one seems like primrose...

@Evelyne Dubos: Unfortunately not, I didn't note any sign.

Phil David Alexander Morris from Saskatoon, Canada

So beautiful, the color of lilacs. They have got to smell nice.

@Phil David Alexander Morris: Due to various allergies, I was a bit 'impaired', so I can't tell exactly if they were actually smelling and how. But nothing stops me from taking a photo of them :-)

MARIANA from Waterloo, Canada

Have I clicked on someone else's page ? O, man ! Flowers here :)) What a sweet surprise :)))
BEautiful focus and colors :)

@MARIANA: I'd like to post many more here, but due to the lousy cold spring this year vegetation is weeks behind. :-(

@Philip: That was three weeks ago. Weather didn't keep up like this, unfortunately. Not even crocuses so far!

Suze from Raleigh, United States

Beautiful flower shot ... color, depth of field are just great.

@Suze: Many thanks, Suze! Glad you like it!

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

Interesting times?????
The only thing I can say is that you have a good time shooting flowers with a very good result!

11 May 2010 7:04am

@Japanalia: Definitely better than shooting a couple of Euros that are loosing its value while watching at them! :)

drphoto from Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom

We're playing the same story out over here too! A hung parliarment and the sterling is weak. Interesting times indeed (deliberate Terry Pratchet reference).

I liket he shot by the way, great framing and DOF - and I just love the colours. A nice surprise!

@drphoto: At least you are able to devaluate your currency further - try this with the Euro and southern Europe goes bust!
I'd like to post more flower shots, but spring is going to be canceled this year.

Laurent from Lyon, France

so beautiful colors and so nicely composed.

11 May 2010 8:52pm
