Agave? Bromelia?

I'm not really sure, the inflorescence of a succulent anyway.
Is this flower enough, Mariana? ;-)

Marie LC from Dauphiné, France

for me it's an agave

@Marie LC: Possibly, yes. Unfortunately I didn't take a photo of the sign with its name.

MARIANA from Waterloo, Canada

Have no clue :)) But , who cares, it is amazing closeup . Beautiful DOF !

@MARIANA: Thanks very much!

Steven from Chicagoland, United States

Beautiful color and a great detail. I love the "half-bloomed" look. :-) The pods are just as intriguing as the blossoms.

@Steven: It flowers for several weeks. The tip isn't yet finished, while the bottom is already wilting.

Christine Walsh from Astoria, NY, United States

This looks like a "hot poker" but that flower is not a tropical... Any orchids in the mix?

22 May 2010 2:17am

@Christine Walsh: Nope, it's a succulent, placed in a greenhouse together with other agaves, cacti, euphorbias etc.

Phil David Alexander Morris from Saskatoon, Canada

Very beautiful, like spending a weekend in Rio...

@Phil David Alexander Morris: Tell me more! ;-)

JoeB from Brampton, Canada

I'm guessing a funny pineapple.

@JoeB: That would be a Bromelia, then.
