In the Bend of the River

Posted by
MadScientist (Düsseldorf, Germany) on 30 May 2010 in Landscape & Rural.

Rhine meadows next to Düsseldorf.

And no, we didn't watch Lena.

Philip from South Wales, United Kingdom

Nice view - glad I did not watch either apart from viewing the 'car crash' British entry!!

@Philip: Being the last one requires dignity. Don't worry, next year new game!

Peter from Amsterdam, Netherlands

You didn't miss that much, I dropped in at #24 out of 25.

Lovely view on Düsseldorf.

30 May 2010 6:45am

@Peter: Many thanks, Peter!

Phil David Alexander Morris from Saskatoon, Canada

This is very nice of the people who still watch a view like this, it would be nice to be a part of it instead of having to be one of those who only see it on screen.

30 May 2010 10:27am

@Phil David Alexander Morris: Ha, I'm thinking the same when I'm watching photos of tropical islands or undisturbed landscapes! :-)

Christine Walsh from Astoria, NY, United States

I see you have captured a capturer... what is Lena?

30 May 2010 2:38pm

@Christine Walsh: Now vot - you don't know Lena?! ;-)

Ted from South Wales, United Kingdom

a nice open space with very photogenic views from your shot and looking at those shooting across the water?

30 May 2010 2:43pm

@Ted: Shot at Monday last week - the last sunny day so far...

Laurent from Lyon, France

What a peaceful and beautiful place.
Town seems far even if the famous tower of Düsseldorf show off.

30 May 2010 3:11pm

@Laurent: Famous tower? Really?!

akarui from Kagoshima, Japan

Very peaceful. People are enjoying time watching the river.

31 May 2010 12:59am

@akarui: Yes, like me! :-)

Laurent from Lyon, France

well, I apologize but I don't know much of Germany (every day a little bit more thanks to you) but yes, I know this telecom tower ;o)

2 Jun 2010 8:25pm

@Laurent: There's a restaurant in that tower that rotates around its axis.

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

Well DO have a place to reatreat into the bossom of Nature and forget about the roadworks! (I cannot imagine you watching the Eurovision??????!!!!!) The little ship on the big waters is such a nice accent. What happens when the Rhine floods?

5 Jun 2010 6:33am

@Japanalia: I've been tortured enough with the Eurovision contest in my chiildhood (Allemagne, zero points), that's enough for one lifetime! :-)
When the Rhine floods, you better life in Düsseldorf, because here are enough meadows taking up the water. Not so in Cologne, where stupid people have built their houses nearby the river and are getting wet cellars up to twice times a year.
