Heart of Lightness

First off, many thanks for your visits and comments during the last few days! We're back from the Golden City, and still a bit overwhelmed by its many impressions, sights, and aspects. We've seen a lot of things, brought back some nice souvenirs, and, of course, a few photos you'll hopefully like. Enjoy!

St Nicolas on the 'Lesser Side' district; the 'Torture Museum' flag was captured coincidentally, our trip was intense, but certainly no torture. :-)

Philip from South Wales, United Kingdom

Looking forward to the photos. Its always nice to visit and come back with photos to share. The terracotta colour of the roof tiles is an interesting contrast to the grey building behind.

@Philip: The more southwards you go, the more red they get. Since whole Prague seems to have been refurbished in the 1990s, it's a really pleasant sight!

António Pires from Lisbon, Portugal

Looking forward to new developments, now in Prague.

@António Pires: Thanks, António! I'm still trying to take less photos and resist the impulse of shooting everything.

Ronnie 2¢ from Atlantic Shores, United Kingdom

Agree with Philip on the value of the colored roofs here that add so much scale and visual context. The Torture banner is a chilling reminder that not everyone was driven by the same Beliefs, I suppose. Some things never change.

@Ronnie 2¢: The means are changing, this time we are using surveillance technology and lawyers.

Ralf Kesper from Attendorn, Germany

Sehr schöne Aufnahme. Klasse Bildschnitt!

@Ralf Kesper: Naher rangehen lohnt sich, denn Autos, Oberleitungen und anderes lenken zu sehr ab. Manchmal zeigt man in einem Ausschnitt tatsächlich mehr als mit der Totalen.

Christine Walsh from Astoria, NY, United States

So glad you are back. I enjoyed the Munich shots, and tried so hard to remember being there...alas, no. Did you go to the torture museum?

@Christine Walsh: Nope, this is just voyeuristic 'fun', nothing for me.

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

Very impressive architecture on St.Nicolas, no two windows are the same in shape and decorations. The coloured roof tiles bring the buildings to life....

@Japanalia: The big copper cupola is very impressive, too!
