Echoes of Consumerism (pt. 2)

The Schadow-Galerie, Düsseldorf's shopping mall next to Königsallee. During rush hour this is a very unfriendly place. Don't get fooled by its clean and peaceful appearance. This was just at the end of Sunday shopping a few weeks ago.

In a world of consumerism, I've never felt myself to be much of a consumer . . the essentials always seemed more than enough, somehow. In a place like this, they'd likely ask me to leave !

@Ronnie 2¢: As long as you're not having a seat on that staircase... ;-)

The empty shopping looks so lonely!

@Z: No wonder, it was Sunday evening, probably just minutes before closing. It was a very different atmosphere.

Aha! Now I see your cunning plan! You show us empty shops and deserted shopping centres as the Euro collapses, and we [Brits] struggling to move in the Xmas rush are made to so feel guilty that we wrap up a few more million to place under the Euro Xmas tree?):-

Unfortunately I haven't seen David posting on Aminus yet so he might've missed it!

@Ted: Have a look at Wednesday's post; your fellow countrymen were already here! :-D

Ted, are we talking Saint David (c. 500–589) or a newer, English version here ?

@Ronnie 2¢: I'm sure St David would love the next church I'm going to present here!
