Lower Wharf

After many weeks of drab skies the light was so very subtle in these first sunny February days. It made even this staircase shine.

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

The staircase is nice model of patterns in stone and iron! The subtle light likes to touch everything and the shadows get born, creating another set of patterns on the back wall. Definitely...romantic! You were, probably, in a better mood!

@Japanalia: What a little sun can accomplish, no? Time keeps running and there's so little future for Europe, as it seems. And not even the sun wants to come back, because today it's snowing again.

Steven from Chicagoland, United States

Beautiful shapes and textures captured here! The railing does a nice job of bisecting this composition and the shadow adds to its impact.

@Steven: Not to forget the light: without that little sunshine this shot wouldn't have made sense.

@franz: Ausnahmsweise schien ja mal die Sonne! :) An diesem Februartag das erste mal seit Wochen, war ein ganz besonderes Gefühl.

Abena from Illinois, United States

I love this, the lines, the downward movement of my eyes, the stones, textures, light and most of all: your framing. This is fantastic !
